Meet Brent Drury! Brent is Lakeview Academy’s Lower School Director, is married to Laura Drury and the couple have three boys together; Tom, Nick and Will.
Brent is originally from Kentucky but has had stints in both Georgia and Kentucky since the late 1990s. He has previously coached baseball and served as Athletic Director at Lakeview. This is Mr. Drury’s second go-around serving as an elementary principal.
“I have always wanted to be an elementary principal,” he said.
Brent also is an avid traveler and has taken students all over the world. He says if he could travel anywhere right now, he would go to Poland.
We want to thank Brent for recently sitting with us and telling us more about his life and love of Hall County!

Question: What inspired you or led you to your career
Answer: “I have always wanted to be elementary principal.”
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County?
A: “Any Mexican place in Hall County and Poor Richard’s. I love the selection of food at each place and also love the chicken livers at Poor Richard’s.”
Q: Who is the most is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Hall County?
A: “Randy Coleman, he helps Benji Wood coach at Gainesville High School. He is very unique and very interesting to me.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “I love to travel, my wife and I have taken students to Europe for the last 13 , 14 years…this time of year somewhere in the Caribbean or Central America. We went to Nicarauga a few years ago and it was very welcoming and inexpensive and I would even say a pleasant surprise. Poland in Europe is the most interesting and intriguing to me, people still view it as a Cold War country but it’s beautiful…we are going this summer with a group and going to Eastern Europe.”
Q:  What is your favorite movie?
A: “‘Saving Private Ryan.’”
Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?
A: “Never give up.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Take a RV and travel the U.S.”
Q: What is your favorite music/ three bands you would like to see(dead or alive)?
A: “I love 70’s and 80’s music and three bands I would like to see would be Foreigner, Jimmy Buffett, Hank Williams Jr.”
Q: Choosing anyone alive and non-relative: with whom would you love to have lunch? Why?
A: “President Bill Clinton, he’s seems very nice to talk to and I would take him to Longstreet.”
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Hall County?
A: “We have mountains, lakes, we’re just close to everything and have many offerings geographically.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in five or 10 years?
A: “Retired and traveling.”
Q: (Even friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “I can be a bit shy.”
Q: What are three words or phrases that come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: “Family, love, contentment.”
