Meet West Hall High School Principal, Scott Justus. Ironically, Scott graduated from North Hall High School before attending Georgia Southwestern on a baseball scholarship. After college, he moved back to Hall County and began his teaching career at North Hall High School, where he worked for a few years. He transitioned to teaching at West Hall before assuming his current position as principal.

He is married to Dawn Justus and the couple have two children. Even though he went to college for baseball, his favorite pastime is playing golf. He also loves being with his family and close friends.
Question: What inspired you or led you to your current career?
Answer: “I always wanted to be an educator, and athletics is what led me originally. I was influenced by a lot of great coaches and teachers. Then, I became certified to be an administrator, and I was given the opportunity to try for the principal position here at West Hall. I’m going on my fourth year as principal here.”
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County, and what do you love there?
A: “Poor Richards, I’ve been going there since I was 4 or 5 years old. I love the fried shrimp and the open faced prime rib.”
Q: How long have you lived or worked in Hall County?
A: “My whole life.”
Q: Who is the most interesting person(s) you’ve met in Hall County?
A: “My grandparents, Denver and George Justus, both of which have passed. They were extremely influential in my life.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: “Hawaii, I’ve never been there and I’d love to go, but I just love anywhere that has a beach.”
Q: What is the first movie you remember seeing in a theatre?
A: “I saw ‘Smokey and the Bandit’ at the Lanier Drive-In where Ingles is now. It’s still one of my favorite movies.”
Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?
A: “In today’s world, we need to love more and build relationships more.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “I’d love to play at Augusta National.”
Q: What is your favorite music/ three bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: “Kinchafoonee Cowboys, Eric Church, and Guns N’ Roses”
Q: What former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Hall County?
A: “Denver Justus Used Cars”
Q: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative: with whom would you love to have lunch?
A: “I’d choose two: Greg Maddux, the Hall of Fame pitcher.  I’d like to pick his brain on baseball.  And, Fred Couples, he’s my favorite golfer and I’d like to know what was going through his head when he won the Masters. I’d take them both to Poor Richards.”
Q: What is your favorite thing about Hall County?
A: “It is one of the greatest places to grow up. You get to see friends and family you’ve known your whole life, but it doesn’t feel too small. I’m happy for my kids to grow up here. Our community is extremely generous, as well.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in five or 10 years?
A: “It’s really in God’s hands, but I’m working towards growing West Hall in education.”
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “I like to dance…a lot. I did the worm at our last school pep rally.”
Q: What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: “Family, friends and love”
