Robert Bell

REALTOR

This is a short Q and A with Robert Bell, Realtor with Abernathy Cochran Group.

Please tell us a little bit about your family.

I’ve been married to my wife Sarah who works for the Gainesville City Schools System for 27 years. My oldest son works in Rabun County, and is getting married in Spring of 2021. My daughter attends Georgia Tech, and is majoring in biomedical engineering. My youngest son is excited to start his college baseball career at Delta State University in Mississippi.

Please tell us about your current career.  Thing you love most about what you do.

Being a Realtor, every day I am able to learn something new and meet a ton of new people. My favorite thing about this is forming lasting relationships with so many people in our community.

Question: What inspired you or led you to your current career?

Answer: I have been interested in real estate since I was really young. When my parents went around to look at homes, they would always take me along, and I guess it must have rubbed off on me..

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in Hall County?

A: I can’t choose a single restaurant but I love authentic Mexican. I get many different meals so I can’t pick just one.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

A: I moved to Hall County when I was 10 so needless to say I have lived here a long time, but you don’t need to know the specifics..

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

A:  One thing I love about our community is how diverse it is and all of the stories people have to share. Because of this, there is such a variety of interesting people I have met in our community.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

A: I am writing this while the pandemic is spreading across the nation, so frankly, I would go anywhere outside of my house. I don’t feel like I need to explain further.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies?  TV shows?

A: I cannot choose a single favorite movie, but my favorite TV show is Seinfeld hands down.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

be understood.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

A :I would love to spend time in the out West for about six months to a year with my wife and my dog Perry.

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?

A: My go to artist would have to be Johnny Cash

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

A: Two restaurants that are no longer around, AAA Pizza and The Professors, make me the most nostalgic.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch?  Why?  And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

A:I would love to have lunch with Will Ferrell because of his comedy, but I wouldn’t want to take him out for lunch. I would rather sit around a fire with him so that I could invite friends to come as well.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

A: I love what the outdoors has to offer, like the lakes and parks, and I like the proximity of everything and how close by places are.

.Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

A: I see myself approaching retirement and being 5-10 years older.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

A: I only have one, and if I revealed it here then I would have none. So, I am going to keep that one to myself.

The single best day is a tough one, but I’d have to say April 25th because it’s not too hot, not too cold. All you really need is a light jacket!.
