The Vision 2030 Art Committee wants you to Get Happy and Buy at this year’s 2nd annual art block pARTy! You can support local artists, public art and Vision 2030 Art from 6-10 p.m. on May 10 in the Royal Space, in between Hunt Tower and The Collegiate just off the downtown Gainesville square.
“Art, food, art, drinks and more art the Vision 2030 art pARTy is becoming the definitive launching point for community public art,” said Frank Norton, Jr., the Norton Agency president and Vision 2030 Public Art chair. “Our goal is ‘art everywhere’ and the proceeds of the party further that mission.”
The art block pARTy will feature local artist’s work for sale under $100 and the featured artist for the event is Angela Chrusiaki Blehm.
Blehm is a local Georgia artist inspired by the clothes we wear or dream of wearing, the routines and patterns of life, our homes and the structures we live among, and the idea of color as antidote.  She has a BFA in Studio Arts from the University of Houston.
Guests will enjoy music from Fire & Knife, along with dinner from the Yumbii food truck, the first in the Atlanta area and drinks from Tap It. Dinner, a drink and a commemorative cup are included with each ticket.
The inaugural art block pARTy was such a success last year that Vision 2030 Public Art is anticipating a sell out crowd. All funds raised at the event through donations and purchased art will go to a new public art project.
Last year’s funds went to a public art project that is a six-piece kinetic art sculpture in the roundabout near Chestatee High School.
