Meet Clay Hammons! Clay is a physical therapist with Benchmark Physical Therapy on McEver Road in Gainesville. He and his family of five live in downtown Gainesville. Clay is married to Blythe and they have three children Maddox (4), Jax (3), and most recently Turner, who was born this spring.
“Turner really completed our family and Blythe is at peace knowing our family is complete,” he said.
We want to thank Clay for recently spending time with us and telling us more about his life and love of Hall County!

Question: What led you to your current career?
Answer: “I get asked that all the time and I always say ‘I don’t know.’ I never had physical therapy in my life other than now that I work there. I’ve always like the human anatomy, just have been intrigued by it and sports performance.”
Q: How long have you lived in Hall County?
A: “About five years now.”
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County?
A: “2 Dog. They have great service and great food.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: “I’d take a golf trip to Ireland and Scotland. It’s on my bucket list.”

Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: “’Top Gun.’ If it’s on, I’m watching it.”

Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?
A: “You should live life God first, Family second, Career third. Make these your priorities.”

Q: What is your favorite music/ 3 bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: “I’d like to see Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, and Nirvana.”

Q: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative: with whom would you love to have lunch?
A: “Tiger Woods. I’d take him to have lunch on the golf course, while playing a round of golf.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about Hall County?
A: “I grew up in a smaller town than this, Natchez, Mississippi. I love the togetherness here, it’s unlike anywhere else I’ve ever lived. People help each other when times are tough.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in five or 10 years?
A: “I’ll be here. My family and I love it here. Robert Cornett is a mentor and partner (at Benchmark). I hope to open other clinics as a partner.”

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “I was the lead singer of a punk rock band called Residue.”

Q: What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: “Safety, Love, Happiness.”

Q: If you were cast into a major motion picture and had your choice of anyone to be your co-star, who would you choose?
A: “Leonardo DiCaprio.”

Q: If you had a full time staff member that was fully paid for, who would you choose? A Chef, Housekeeper, Driver, Coach, Physical Fitness Trainer, or Nanny?
A: “A Housekeeper”
