Dean AdamsDean Adams is a man who is familiar with Hall County; really familiar. How could he not be after living in the area for 47 years? Most people know Adams as the manager of local restaurant 2 Dog Cafe but you may not have known he also owns a local pet sitting/house sitting business. In addition to his culinary knowledge, Adams, a frequent theatergoer and documentary enthusiast, is a source of advice for anyone looking for the more eclectic side of Gainesville.
Recently, we asked Dean a few questions about his life, likes and interests to share with fellow Gainesvillians.
Question: If you could only eat at one place for an entire week in Hall County, where would it be?
Answer: 2 Dog.
Q: How long have you lived in Hall County?
A: 47 years after moving from from Boulder, Colo.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met in Gainesville?
A: Rosemary Dodd (Adams’ best friend).
Q: If you could travel anywhere right now, where would it be?
A: I have a trip planned to Scandinavia with a friend to watch the Northern Lights.
Q: What song reminds you most of Hall County?
A: “Crocodile Rock,” by Elton John because I got in trouble in kindergarten for singing it out loud!
Q: What is your favorite social outing in Gainesville?
A: Gainesville Theatre Alliance shows.
Q: Do you have a favorite sandwich?
A: It would have to be leftover pot roast with mayo on white bread.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: “Steel Magnolias” and “Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas.”
Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?
A: “Live, live, live, life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death.”- Mame Dennis
