Meet Coach Heath Webb! Heath is the new head football coach at Gainesville High School and previously coached at Winder Barrow for four years; where he took the Bulldoggs to the playoffs four years in a row.
“The players have been working with me well and they are buying into my way of doing things,” he said.
Heath grew up in Habersham County and graduated from Habersham Central in 1994 but has always wanted his end goal to be at Gainesville High.
Coach Webb has been married for 13 years to Jesi and have three children together. Josie who is nine years old, Abbie Kate who is seven years old, and Thomas who is two. Jesi is a teacher at Longbranch Elementary School and teaches Art.
Heath has played football his entire life and played college football at Presbyterian College. Going into this football season Heath feels strong about the outcome of the Red Elephant players and is excited to see what is to come. He said he knows he has big shows to fill from the longtime head coach Bruce Miller, but is ready to do things a little different for the Red Elephants.
“When you see the kids buying into what I’m doing it shows through the success on the field,” he said.
We are excited for the new season and where Coach Webb will take the Red Elephants this year. We want to thank Coach Webb for sitting down with our intern Tricia Cumiskey recently to tell us more about his life and love of Hall County.
