Meet Joy James!  Joy, like her name suggests, is really one of the happiest people anyone will ever meet.  She has been one of the mortgage leaders in the northeast Georgia area for many years.  She loves helping people buy homes.
We want to thank Joy for taking her time to answer a few questions about her life and our community of Hall County.
Question:What inspired you or led you to your current /past career? 
Answer: “I was a Marketing major at Georgia Southern University and worked for Macy’s in their Retail Management training program when I graduated. After working there for six years, I was approached by a local bank who wanted someone with experience in retail as they were opening a new “model” of banking – with a unique branch interior design, flex hours, and more automation for their customers. From the role of Branch Manager, I decided to go into their Mortgage Department, which led me to Guaranty Mortgage in Buford, where I have been for 15 years.”
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County, and what do you love there?
A: “2 Dog. I love the fresh local ingredients and seasonal menu.”
Q: How long have you lived or worked in Hall County?
A: “I have lived in the North Georgia area all of my life and worked in Hall County for 15 years.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “Oh, there are so many places on my list, but right now, I’m looking at Spain or Portugal for my next adventure.”
Q: What is your favorite movie OR what was the first movie you remember seeing in a theatre?
A: “‘Forrest Gump’ is one of my favorites. I love that he is so kind-hearted and that the movie covers so many decades. I also love to binge watch TV on Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu.”
Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: “I like Helen Keller quotes, so I would say – ‘Life is short and unpredictable. Eat the dessert first.'”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Travel more and to try more adventures outside of my comfort zone.”
Q:  What is your favorite music / name 3 bands you would love to see?
A: “I like various music, but I would say Country or Rock. At the moment, the one person I would love to see is Justin Timberlake.”
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Hall County?
A: “Lake Lanier would be my favorite.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: “I hope to continue my success as a Mortgage Loan Officer and travel more.”
Q: What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: “Joy, Comfort, Peace.”
Q: If you had a full time staff member that was fully paid for, who would you choose?
A: “Chef”
