Meet Lauren Crocker, the City of Gainesville’s ONLY female firefighter! Lauren has been a firefighter in Gainesville for about seven years. Lauren and husband Scott, enjoy living in Hall County with their two step sons. Lauren went to Lanier Tech EMS and is currently in school with hopes of becoming a firefighter engineer.
We want to thank Lauren for taking time with us recently to tell us more about her life and love of Hall County.
Question: What inspired you or led you to your current career?
Answer: “As I was growing up my mom was really sick and got transported to the hospital by the ambulance several times and I always admired their job, I thought it was really cool. Also, one of my friend’s dad was a firefighter and when he found out that I wanted to be an EMT he let me ride in Atlanta with him and I fell in love with firefighter services.”
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County, and what do you love there?
A: “My favorite restaurant in Hall County would be Atlas, I love to get the pepperoni personal pan.”
Q: How long have you lived or worked in Hall County?
A: “I have lived here for about eight years and worked here for seven years.”

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Hall County?
A: “I meet a lot of interesting people on calls for work so there isn’t really one person I can pick out.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: “I would love to travel to Wyoming because I really love the West, I’d love to visit Yellowstone!”
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: “My favorite movie would be ‘Step Brothers.’”
Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?
A: “If you have a chance to positively affect someone’s day, take that opportunity!”
Q: What is your favorite type of music? What are 3 bands you’d like to see, dead or alive?
A: “My favorite type of music is Christian and I’d love to see Zac Brown Band, for KING & COUNTRY, and Lauren Daigle live in concert.”
Q: Choosing anyone non-relative: with whom would you love to have lunch? Where would you take them?
A: “I’d love to eat lunch with President Abraham Lincoln since he’s one of the first few presidents. I would take him to Atlas since that’s my favorite place.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “I would really like to travel the world.”
Q: What is your favorite thing about Hall County?
A: “My favorite thing about Hall County would be the community.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in five or 10 years?
A: “Hopefully I will be finishing school with my degree, I hope to be the first female firefighter engineer.”
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “I’m really not sure, most people know everything about me!”
Q: What are 3 words or phrases that come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: “Comfort, family, and safe.”
