Eating al fresco is probably the most popular way to enjoy a glass of wine, appetizer or dinner at Avocados, a popular restaurant located on the historic downtown Gainesville square.
The restaurant, founded by Albert Lunalover, is great spot for almost any occasion whether you’re going on a date or family dinner, celebrating a birthday, having brunch or just looking to relax and eat some delicious food.
“Avocados is one of my favorite places to eat outside on the square enjoying the sights, sounds and weather,” said Abernathy Cochran Realtor Brad Abernathy. “They have a delicious menu and the best homemade chicken fingers, fries and honey mustard in town…the the Chicken Capital of the World that is saying a lot!”
According to the Avocados website, Avocados owner and executive chef Lunalover attended culinary school at Johnson & Wales in Rhode Island. In 2012, Lunalover ventured out on his own and created Avocados where he could share his creativity and passion for great food with Gainesville, according to www.avocadoseats.com.
Beyond the creative menu and specials at Avocados, the restaurant features local art by local artists in the restaurant, live music, a cozy, eclectic atmosphere, full bar, a great wine list and happy hour.
Some of the customer’s favorite dishes include their Angus burgers with hand cut fries, fish and chips, fajitas and their Nutella stuffed French toast.
“Our family loves the Sunday brunch at Avocados,” Abernathy Cochran Realtor Regina Cochran said. “I also love the avocado salad with avocados, tomatoes, onions and lime juice.”
For dessert, Avocados diners can choose from decadent desserts like creme brulee and cheesecake.
